Selection Procedure for UPSC CDS 2019

Combined Defence Service UPSC CDS 2019 selection procedure is rigorous process through which candidates in fields of Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA) and Officers Training Academy are selected. The UPSC CDS 2019 Selection Procedure mentioned in the following steps:

1. Written Examination
2. Personality Test/ Personal Interview
3. Verification of the candidates
4. Medical Examination of the selected candidates

Detailed information for the CDS (II) 2019 selection procedure:

STEP 1: Written Examination

The first step in the selection procedure of CDS (II) 2019 begins with candidates appearing for written examination which is scheduled for 08th September 2019.

The candidate opting for IMA, Naval Academy and Air Force Academy are required to give three written subjects of the following subjects:

1. English
2. General Knowledge
3. Elementary Mathematics

UPSC CDS Eligibility

The candidates appearing for Officers Training Academy will have to give written test of two subjects of the following:

1. English
2. General Knowledge

STEP 2: Personality Test OR Personal Interview

The second step in the CDS 2019 (II) Selection procedure is personality test or personal interview. A panel judges the shortlisted candidates and on the grounds of verbal and non verbal intelligence the candidates are further selected. The panel may decide to conduct a group activity, group discussion etc. The candidate’s social personality and knowledge of the current affairs and his personality are under scrutiny for this procedure.

STEP 3: Document Verification:

After the personal interview is conducted in the STEP 2 of the CDS 2019 (II) selection procedure, the candidates are shortlisted and there all the documents for verification are required. Following is the list of documents to be submitted for verification:

1. Birth Certificate
2. Academic Degrees (HSC, SSC, Graduation etc)
3. Certificate of Eligibility for certain candidates
4. Passport size photograph
5. Identity proof
6. Residence proof etc.
7. Category or cast certificate (SC, ST, OBC, PH etc)
